The Bay keeping momentum in the off-season.

Byron Bay Rugby have started their light off-season training this week in a bid to keep club interest going and players fitness up to scratch.

Byron Rugby have entered a team in the weekly Oz-Tag competition based out of Mullumbimby. ‘Fat’ Craig Wallace leads the team and encourages all to join in.
“This is a great opportunity for new players to the club and town to have a run-out and get to meet some of the lads before pre-season starts” he said, in between mouthfuls.

Hooker Josh Smith, who claims to have the ‘biggest head in the bay’ says the focus isn’t just on playing but also socialising.
“Mate, I love it.” he said. “We get on the piss and smash back the tinnies. Heaps of piss.”

That’s not all. Starting Wednesday mornings the First XV will focus on doing a team circuit training.
“The lads got together after the 7’s weekend and mentioned they’d like to do something to keep fit. The training will be short but intense like most of my antics “said Andy ‘Teumsy’

Byron Bay Rugby encourages all potential players and anyone wanting to give Rugby a go to come down in the off-season to meet the players and club staff.
